Thoughts On Runescape

Runescape is an MMORPG made by Jagex that is currently home to over one million members, whether they be free players or paying members. I'm fully aware that some players have been playing since the earlier Runescape Classic version and what I'm about to say is strictly my opinion on the game judging by how long I've been playing it for.

As a paying member of Runescape, the first good thing I can say is that the price for the membership is certainly not bad. Compared to other games such as WOW which costs around 15 dollars a month, Runescape only costs 7-8 dollars with tax or 6 dollars online. For that small price, you can get a 30 day membership and access to all the members features such as more place to run(more world) and certainly more items and skills.

Over the years, Runescape has changed drastically. It's graphics has changed and(in my experience) it has never once been down to do so. Or at least not for a long period of time. The Runescape creators take the players opinions into consideration as we recently started a poll of bringing the wilderness and free trade back. This means that the players have changed as well.

Back in the earlier years of Runescape, I remember logging on and being in Lumbridge where tons of people were sending messages such as, "Be my bf" and other inappropriate messages. Although I did not enjoy these messages, people in Runescape were able to block it out and now, it's gone for good.

When I was a beginner, I remember the word "Noob" as being a very popular term to describe my character and others. However, now I believe that it is clearly over used and now it's just used to insult people around the world. Lower levels are over using it towards higher levels and higher levels are tormenting the lower levels with it. Not that it's bullying because it's an internet game but honestly, give it a rest people. Most of you have been playing this game for ages and those who haven't, I wish you knew the old Runescape.

The Runescape atmosphere seems to be getting a lot more high-school like and a lot less playing and much more competitiveness. People, this is a game and it's supposed to be fun. People aren't supposed to be insulting each other and bragging and using bots to run their characters. It's supposed to be a game where people can go to escape from the child like atmosphere around them and come to a world where anything is possible. Where you can be whoever you want to be and make friends with people who love to play games like you do.

I'm not insinuating that Runescape is a terrible place but I certainly could do without the "Noob" calling that isn't harmless and the high rising competitiveness. I do not want the old Runescape back and I do not want the wilderness back(free trade, well I like that idea) but I certainly do want a place where I can have fun and not see the word "Noob".

There are many points I didn't make but I'm incredibly tired and like I said previously, this is just my opinion and people are entitled to have them whether you agree or not.
