Chocolate Covered Marshmellows

What You'll Need
  • Foil
  • Marshmellows[any amount]
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • Toothpicks
  • Double Boiler

*If you do not have a double boiler*
If you are unable to find a double boiler(pans specialized for melting chocolate) you can simply melt the chocolate in a microwave.

    Step One: Prepare
Make sure your workspace is clean and spread out a piece of foil on a sheet that you would bake cookies on. Spread out each marshmallow and place a tooth pick carefully about 1/2 of the way into the marshmallow.

    Step Two: Melt The Chocolate
If you have a double boiler, go ahead and melt the chocolate using the directions that it gives you. If you don't have a double boiler and you don't wish to use a microwave you can construct a makeshift one yourself using a metal or heat-safe or even a smaller pan over a larger saucepan. Boil the water in the larger pan then place the bowl with the chocolate morsels over the boiling water. Make sure that none or little water gets into the chocolate itself. Continuously stir with a heat-safe spatula or spoon.

    Step Three: Create
Once the chocolate is melted, turn off the stove and turn back to your work station. Place the bowl of melted chocolate onto a counter top(but make sure it's placed on something that will not burn, such as a towel). Although the chocolate is still very hot, you can't leave the chocolate alone or else it will melt. Let the chocolate cool down only slightly before picking up each toothpick and lightly rolling it into the melted chocolate. Let the chocolate drip off then place back on the foil.

    Step Four: Cool
Once each marshmallow is covered in chocolate, place the cookie tray in the fridge to let cool. VoilĂ . You have yourself chocolate covered marshmallows.

Warning: children under 12 should not do this without their parents help. if the boiling water/chocolate gets on hands it can burn.
